iona's blog

It's a journal. It's a devotional. It's a record of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor. It's documentation of God's activities in real time. There are good days and bad, happy times and sad... I tell it like it is. This is an unscripted walk along the meandering paths of my mind. My life has never been dull... and I've never known boredom. Read on, you'll see...

Dateline: Paris

Hello from Paris, TX! I didn't have to leave without my teeth after all. I prayed and prayed and finally was led to take one last look, in a place I had not looked, the couch pillows, and there thery were! God is so great!!

We made about 1100 miles in 25 hours since we left home yesterday at about five and are ready for a good rest. Yeah, we got a late start, LOL.

Julia and Scott both tried to help us arrange a "special visit" for Tuesday or Wednesday, but the new warden has not authorized an off day visit since he came six months ago, so after ralking with Scott on the phone today, we've changed our plans and will make a Sunday visit work one way or another.

I am still suffering with an overactive digestive system and am now having on-again off-again chest pains... not heart attack style, but still sharp and bothersome. The other downer was when we opened the trunk this evening and found the glass shattered on Kim and Steve's wedding portrait. We had packed it SO carefully and cushioned it with pillows, but alas, it was to no avail.

We went to Wal-mart and got a frame for the glass, a really cheap one, only to discover the glass is not glass but plastic! I was too exhausted to go back again and Richard suggested it might be better this way anyhow since we can't break this one... so the picture is reframed... with plastic glazing... and it looks fine!

I continue to marvel at God's mercies and care. I especially appreciated my teeth since I thought I was going to have to make the trip without them. I am thankful, too, for safe travels, mostly in rain, and a good natured hubby. I am truly a blessed woman.
