Prayer for the Nation

I have been in almost constant prayer for the nation to turn an d follow the path of righteousness... I am spent and mostly devoid of anything further to say, so I will post what God has caused to be sent to me. I know not the author and pray permission is granted (I somehow have faith that it is):

Prayer for Voters

Dear Heavenly Father,

Oh Heavenly Father, we are a great Nation who desires your will for us. We recognize that we have turned from you in many areas and have not lived according to your ways. Please Forgive us for our failures and for living to please ourselves instead of serving you. Let this be a time of cleansing for our nation. Please help us to be on the right path and if necessary please change the direction in which we are headed. We want to vote according to your will... only you know the true hearts of the candidates. We thank you and trust that you will lead us and guide us through your Holy Spirit and through Biblical truth. Anoint us and help us to carry out your perfect will for our Nation and please deliver us from Evil.

Please guide and direct our steps. May our hearts be open to your will, and may you give us ears to hear so that we will recognize your voice. Which candidate will lay aside his will and be led by your Holy Spirit? Who stands for righteousness and holiness? Who seeks Godly wisdom and is man of integrity, which candidate has the mind of Christ? Who will uphold your principles and stand by you and not succumb to the pressures of the mainstream media or to Man's wisdom? Which candidate will be your voice (and not just do what is popular at any given moment) but who will act according to your word and guidance. Which person is a yielded vessel desiring to carry out your plans and purposes? Which candidate believes in the sanctity of marriage and will take a stand to protect the unborn children? Which candidate will pray and stand in the gap for our Nation?

Thank you for coming to our aid in this crucial hour and at a time of such great need. May we humble ourselves and pray on our knees before you to hear your voice and be led by your Spirit. And may we also cling to you and not be pressured to vote in a way that does not bring you Glory and Honor. Yes we wish to Honor you. Please have mercy on us...

In the most wonderful name of Jesus we pray. Amen

Prayer for the Nation- People are praying and seeking God's guidance.

They're fasting on the steps of the Florida Capitol, hoping God will hear their pleas to put an abortion opponent in the White House. (See article)

While politicians are making their final pitch to voters, religious Americans from across the political spectrum are appealing to a higher power on the candidates' behalf.

"We have just days to pray that someone who upholds the sanctity of life and marriage between one man and one woman will win," said Pam Olsen, co-pastor with her husband of the International House of Prayer in Tallahassee, Fla.

"The outcome is up to God," she said.

Rabbi David Seidenberg of Northampton, Mass., has written a prayer in Hebrew and English that can be recited just before filling out a ballot. Posted on his blog neohasid.org, and distributed through e-mail, it includes a voter pledge to heal the world and a wish for the country to "pursue righteousness and to seek peace."

"There still is so much hope and feeling connected to this election and I want to say that in as nonpartisan a way as possible," Seidenberg said in an interview. "It really feels like so much hangs in the balance and so many dreams and hopes hang in the balance right now."
