I tell it like it is. This is an unscripted walk along the meandering paths of my mind. My life has never been dull... and I've never known boredom. Read on, you'll see...

Super Bowl Bad Ad?

The Super Bowl ad you may not see...

First, NBC said yes, then reconsidered and denied the ad although they are still trying to sell ad time.

There is no fowl language nor inappropriate graphics.

The ad is not contentious, nor does it malign anyone.

So, what's so bad about this ad?

Sick Again!

Saturday night I was fit as a fiddle. Sunday morning, I woke up late and very sick. I drove to the church with grape juice for communion, but it was all set up already. Thank God so much for the faithful ones.

I am still sick. The folks at church are sick. I am praying. You could, too, for them and for me. Thanks.

Saturday Already

Saturday already! Time and I simply do not travel at the same speed, and try as I may, I cannot seem to match the pace of time. I find I am much more at peace just accepting that and trusting God's promise that He will work it all together for good. Stressing over being behind or not meeting my own or anyone else's expectations of productivity solves nothing.

So, it's Saturday and many of my goals for this week have not been met. That's cool. I had a great week anyway...

I went on a date with my Tall Man. We had coupons to dine out at two different places in Tampa. We ate at one, then later ordered huge meals at the other, but we had them boxed up to bring home. Steaks over an inch thick, grilled shrimp, all the trimmings, even appetizers and desserts. I froze two dinners and we've also eaten two meals, so we got four meals out of that one coupon.

Yesterday's Bible Study was an extra blessing. We had hoped two special friends would be there, but maybe next week... Our group is unbelievably close, and yet we would easily assimilate anyone who came. Isn't that so much that way God leads us to operate...? It's all about Him, we just follow.

I had a doctor's visit... Just a checkup. All was well, except I have gained weight. The Bible says self control is a fruit of the Spirit, so I am thinking (and praying) I need to quit trying to bear the diet burden alone... Quit making food such a big issue in my thoughts and life.

Am I going on an all out diet? No. We eat out a lot, often for free, and even at home, I love to cook and we enjoy sitting down together for meals. Richard likes hearty foods. So, I will work on better choices for me when I am not dining with him. Also, I will be honest in that I binge on sweets at times... the holidays were full of lovely chocolates and I ate them with wild abandon.

Wednesday evening, our church "Backyard" meal was held in the sanctuary. Worked great! We've been having wonderful turnouts, even in the "cold" weather. Central Florida has had a cold snap this week... at least we think it's cold. The tourists, however, are still going to Disney's Blizzard Beach water park with hardly any clothes on. Brrrr! They run around the Magic Kingdom in their shorts and flip-flops while the natives and transplants like us are hunched up trying to stay warm in our coats and sweaters.

I am aghast and grieved that my tax dollars will once again support abortion world-wide. See http://tinyurl.com/aozqqg
President Obama signed this burden into effect Friday with none of the fanfare that accompanied the good things he did about Guantanamo Bay and Ethics, etc. Please be praying that our president will come to understand that taking human life is murder, no matter the age of the person killed. Also, please visit http://www.whitehouse.gov/ read his stand on abortion and use the contact links to let him know you oppose the slaughter of unborn children here and abroad.

Here are the details... In 1984, Ronald Reagan banned the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions overseas. Bill Clinton reversed the ban in 1993, and George W. Bush reinstituted it in 2001. Now, Barak Obama has removed the barrier, so U.S. taxpayers will once again pay for abortions world wide. I am sickened!

MLK Day

It has been a wonderful Sunday. I commented to Richard the afternoon on how great church services were this morning, saying it has been one of the best yet. His reply, "Every Sunday, you say it was one of the best ever." Hmmm. Yes, that's true, I do. And it is!

Also, two dear friends I love deeply were back in church after a time away. It meant a great deal to me to see them.

I had not been to bed last night so took a long nap this afternoon and somehow managed to forget that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was tomorrow. I live in my own little bubble and never seem to operate at the same pace time does. So, when I woke up, I revised my MLK page at http://ionanet.com/press/cards/mlk.htm Hope you enjoy it:

We had a nice dinner of roast pork au jus with boiled potatoes, mixed veggies and biscuits, but no dessert. So now, my tummy feels cheated and I want something sweet. Problem is, I have gained back some of the hard-lost weight it took me forever to lose. Why do we all care so much about weight, anyway? Those are the words of a woman about to cave in to temptation. But one of the fruits of the Spirit is Self Control, so instead of grabbing a cookie, I will refocus on the Lord and read my Sign Language assignment.

Blessed Busy

WWhat a lovely WEDNESDAY! This morning Richard and I drove over to visit a friend and surprise her on her birthday with a "Bag of Blessings," just various inexpensive gifts I pray will have special meaning for her. She lives in downtown Orlando and the drive was interesting and the sights stimulating.

Next we drove to Tampa and took care of business there. On the way, there was a huge wreck on the east-bound side. Traffic was backed up for miles. I thought of how favored I am to have survived the various car wrecks I've been in. None my fault, just in case you were hoping never to ride with me.

On our way back east toward home, traffic was still slowed to a crawl, so we took back roads. I called ahead to have kathy print out our Weekly Prayer Focus that I would be reporting on later after our "Backyard" services. Backyard was wonderful and we had a great turnout, but when it was time for me to report, I couldn't read the printout. My "regular" glasses are broken and these older reading glasses just didn't cut it. But the Holy Spirit led anyway.

Tomorrow, I am going shopping with Juanita to find a nice low bookcase to use for a church book share. Then, Friday, Donna and Debi and I are going to Epcot... a busy, but fun weekAnd my day was like this...

09:55 Praying and preparing for "Backyard" at church tonight. #
10:58 Leaving for busy day: Bag of Blessings to surprise a friend; personal business & errands; Backyard meal, worship, Word and prayer. Yahoo!

Staged!

I seem to go through these phases of blogging, then not posting for days on end, then posting sporadically... I don't like that and if anyone is still reading me, they don't either. So, without promises for future diligence, which I usually end up breaking anyway, I once more forge ahead with one post at a time...

But before going further, I share this comment... I really do love posting and, like my planner, it is immensely helpful to me when I do it. Of course, you and I already knew that anyway, Oh, well.

This is quite a busy week. Church Sunday, then lunch with two dear, dear friends, Sally and Nancy. We shamelessly pigged out at Tijuana Flats. I love that place. After a good visit and plenty of food, I led my friends further astray by introducing them to Bon Worth just a few doors down. Nancy is so tiny, they had nothing to fit her, but Sally fell in love with the place

Richard and I took down the Christmas decorations Monday but didn't get them all put away before it was time to go to Chili's for dinner. Kim had given us a gift certificate and even after two big meals, we have money left on it. Really, we had four meals because we brought enough home for two dinner.

Then we went over to the church for Annette's sign language class. 17 students showed up! We missed class one and had no book, plus I can't hear when things are spoken and to top it off, I had broken my glasses. Even with all that I can tell you about boots- tall or short black shoes or hot pick boots, I know many colors, and names of things. I am so excited about this! I miss so much. I hate to ask over and over. It drives folks batty,

Today, We worked around the house... got Christmas packed away in the attic, Then drove around several times looking for a lost bulldog and his friend a wayward pug. The bulldog Came home and laid down in their back your, but the pug had to be captured.

Next I know, it's time for dinner and I haven't planned dinner because dinner was ti served at the leadership meal tonight. Richard is invited but doesn't come so he gets grilled cheese and milk. I offered better, but he pick his meal. The meeting food was great. The meeting was a good exchange of ideas. I am strongly praying for a greater prayer focus at our church. We will open the prayer door just after the lesson. We also hope to have a time of prayer open to anyone at various times during the week.

Tomorrow is MT's birthday and we hope to surprise her on way to run some errands. She is such a dear one! Always taking care of others even when they are less injured than she. SG's birthday is coming soon, Also, so I did both their gifts and cards.

Also, tomorrow is our first "backyard Wednesday. I am praying for a good turnout. I will be presenting some prayer info at the end and inviting those interested to stay and pray together.

Sick Times Two

Now, Richard is sick, too. It would be just a head cold if not for the nausea, terrible head ache, and the agony of bone pain, especially in hips, spine and long bones. Half the folks at church have this nasty bug. Highly contagious!

That's all for today, I am off to bed.

Buyers Remorse

I have caught the bug that has been infecting one after another at church. It's nasty! I am sick and will not go around anyone until I am sure I won't infect them. Besides, I am too yucked out to be around folks anyway.

I was just beginning to feel bad last night when Richard and I went to a presentation for "Direct Savers. We are so naive and gullible, we bought in... We talked about praying first but never really did it until on our way home. After checking on the internet and not finding anything, I decided we had better got out quick and called our credit card carrier last night.

Like I said, we know better!
