I Want You...
Ours is a nation founded on Biblical teachings and even today our currency bears the words, "In God We Trust." Few can doubt God had a plan for this country and stood in the gap for her throughout history, yet there are those unseeing ones who would exclude the Lord from taking part in the affairs of our great nation. They would ban the Creator from the courtroom as they have barred Him from the classroom. Our God-honoring founding fathers would be appalled should they visit America today, for it is not what they had in mind at all! While we read that the majority of our citizens "believe in God," we see religious freedoms eroded and discarded one after another... all in the name of "separation of church and state." You see, that concept was intended to preserve the rights of believers to worship as they saw fit, not destroy it!
Walking Tall for America Each and every one of us bears a responsibility to America, and although we may never serve in the military to protect her, we can take a stand politically. We can let our voices be heard for the cause of morality, ethical government standards, religious freedom, and all that is good and right... we can send a resounding message that we want the nation envisioned and fought for by those brilliant men who drafted the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Most importantly of all, we can PRAY daily for this nation and its leaders.
Freedom is never free. Nor is it static. The freedoms we now enjoy are limited compared to times past, and alarmists would frighten us into giving up even more liberties. They cite the crime rate, drug problems, and needs for special groups to have greater "civil liberties" than the rest of us. They want governmental control over almost every aspect of our lives and will succeed if we continue in an attitude of complacency.
Now is the time to make your voice heard... at the throne of God... in congress... at the White House... in the chambers of state and local governments... at school board meetings... in editorial sections of your local newspaper... on the internet... (You can do this at http://vote.com ) So get out there and...

Beat the Drum for Freedom
My name Is Old Glory
I am the flag of the United States of America, I was born on July 4th, 1776 and the Declaration of Independence is my birth certificate.
The blood lines of the world run through my veins, for I offer freedom to the oppressed. I stand for many things and many people. I am the nation.
I have fought in every battle of every war, for more than 200 years: Gettysburg, Anzio, Normandy, Guam, Iwo Jima, Korea, Saigon, Granada, Beirut, Panama, in the Persian Gulf... a score of places, long forgotten by all but those who were there with me. I was there, I led my soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen. I follow them, I watch over them -- they love me.
When freedom called, I answered and stayed until it was over. I left my heroic dead in Flanders fields, in the oceans of the Pacific and Atlantic, in the steaming jungle of Vietnam, the waters of the Persian Gulf, and the sands of Desert Storm.
I was conceived in freedom and, God willing in freedom I will spend the rest of my days. May I possess always the integrity, the courage, and the strength to keep myself unshackled, to remain the citadel of freedom, and the beacon of strength to the rest of the world. This is my goal, my hope, my prayer.
I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on in the streets of countries I have helped set free and, sadly, of my own country. And when it's by those whom I have given the freedom to express their rights, it hurts... but I shall overcome, for I am strong!
I have slipped the bonds of earth and from my vantage point on the moon, I stand watch over the uncharted new frontiers of space.
I have been a silent witness to all of America's finest hours. But my finest hour comes when I am torn into strips, to be used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the field of battle... when I fly half mast to honor my soldiers, and when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving mother, at the grave side of her fallen son or daughter.
I am proud... I am free... I am brave. My name is"Old Glory", long may I wave Dear God, long may I wave.

It's a Grand Ol' Flag
The United States Flag is the third oldest in the world -- older than the Union Jack of Britain or the Tricolor of France. The flag was first authorized by Congress June 14, 1777.
"We take the stars from Heaven, the red from our mother country, separating it by white stripes, thus showing that we have separated from her, and the white stripes shall go down to posterity representing Liberty." -- George Washington
No one knows with absolute certainty who designed the first stars and stripes or who made it. Congressman Francis Hopkinson seems most likely to have designed it, and few historians believe that Betsy Ross, a Philadelphia seamstress, made the first one.
Until the Executive Order of June 24, 1912, neither the order of the stars nor the proportions of the flag was prescribed. Consequently, flags dating before this period sometimes show unusual arrangements of the stars and odd proportions, these features being left to the discretion of the flag maker. In general, however, straight rows of stars and proportions similar to those later adopted officially were used. The principal acts affecting the flag of the United States are the following:
- On June 14, 1777, in order to establish an official flag for the new nation, the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act: "Resolved, That the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation."
- Act of January 13, 1794 - provided for 15 stripes and 15 stars after May 1795.
- Act of April 4, 1818 - provided for 13 stripes and one star for each state, to be added to the flag on the 4th of July following the admission of each new state, signed by President Monroe.
- Executive Order of President Taft dated June 24, 1912 - established proportions of the flag and provided for arrangement of the stars in six horizontal rows of eight each, a single point of each star to be upward.
- Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated January 3, 1959 - provided for the arrangement of the stars in seven rows of seven stars each, staggered horizontally and vertically.
- Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated August 21, 1959 - provided for the arrangement of the stars in nine rows of stars staggered horizontally and eleven rows of stars staggered vertically.
